Well it didn't start off too well as we realised we were low on oil; so had to turn the heating off! (no delivery until Thursday!!)
Lazy starts to the day... well for me anyway! The boys whom I struggle to get out of bed in time for school are miraculously up at 6, ready to play on the comp! Well the rule may well be no comp on school days, but now, no one is allowed downstairs at least before 7! I thought hols were for lie ins! The youngest ones stay in bed for the longest! Both Leah and Benjamin stayed in bed until 8.30.
Following the re-jigging of the comp room last week, I had some sorting of paperwork and stuff. The house needed a good sorting too so the boys willingly albeit grumpily helped their mummy.
Weds, following an express appt at the hosp., we had a lovely visit and lunch with Rose. The children had a great time, and Isaac and Timothy in particular became partners in boyishness, egg collecting, football in the field, climbing trees. Thanks Rose for welcoming us so warmly, we always enjoy our visits with you.
Thursday, and an early start saw us heading to Derbyshire to visit Stainsby Mill...I wonder why???? :)The children enjoyed making their own flour with a set of mini millstones in the courtyard outside! We then headed off to Clumber park where we unloaded all our bikes from the boot (Tom had packed them in for me)as well as the trailer from the back seat. Oh I do love our minibus... I can now boast a boot that fits one adult and four junior bikes! We had a great ride around the lake followed by a stroll through the kitchen garden for inspiration. We missed not meeting up with Poledragon but she was feeling poorly and she was better off snuggled up at home.
Matthew and Joseph built themselves a tent with a stick and a tarpaulin... and we let them sleep out! (note this is NOT child cruelty, they begged us!!!)
A quiet Friday with the boys helping Julie and Amy walk the dogs finished the week off nicely as we now prepare for our Vision worship tomorrow. The boys have gone out again... but rain is forecast in the night....
