A like minded friend, met in real life...

Most of you will know that I often go on "my" forum with other parents of more than the average number of children.....
Well I met one for real!!!!!!!!!!
Kris having had her first boy two months ago, I had put together a couple of bags of leftover boyzy bits, and a couple of feeding tops/dresses. chatting on MSN it suddenly became clear that it would be easier to meet than for me to post parcels... (and I could also put in a couple of trays of seedlings for her allotment in the boot of the van!)
So Pennell's garden centre was the chosen venue with Leah and Benjamin in tow..... Kris was waiting with Freya and a GORGEOUS Robin. Lots of toast for the children and CAKE for the mummies. Lots of chat but it felt like we'd met before having shared in conversations together on the boards for a year.
Benjamin sharing in kisses for baby Robin

A lovely morning , and hopefully, one to be repeated@ Four Acres... next time the older children on both sides will be able to meet as well....
So are you free over the Easter holidays Kris? I could do with some more snuddling!!

Isn't he gorgeous?

PS Kris took the photos and I was too busy snuddling Robin to take any myself! you won't get off that easily next time!

A special evening.

Well the boys were so excited, we had promised them that they could enjoy a Chinese meal with us.... So we planned it ahead, the little ones would go to bed as mormal on Friday whilst M&J went to YPF (Young Person's Fellowship... sort of a Christian youth club) Tom and I would pre order the meal and then the boys would pick it up on the way back home. They were so looking forward to it, I think most of Billinghay knew they were going to be eating Chinese....

Well it was a learning curve for them..... just because they really wanted something and were so looking forward to it..........didn't make their taste buds appreciate the flavours!!!!

A disappointment for them but at least now they won't droole as much if they know we are going to have one!!! Joseph did enjoy the ribs and as only Joseph could, he had Kim Do sauce on his eyebrows and knees and most parts in between!!!! Matthew sort of liked the crispy aromatic duck but without any cucumber, spring onions or plum sauce......
The evening wasn't a complete downer for them though, they were up later than normal, they did enjoy the prawn crakers, and mummy had rounded off the evening by bying "The Fantastic Four". So Tom and I tucked into a Chinese Take away with gusto as the boys enjoyed a movie night until late!
We agreed that they would be able to try some from time to time as taste buds do develop and they may enjoy the sweet/sour tastes one day.......

We love Freecycle!

We do, we do, we do! And it's all free!!!!!!
We've found new homes for a king sized bed, some odd sized shelf supports, a 10 yr old fridge freezer (that were taking up space in the garage).... and we have re-homed this smart chest freezer ready for all our surplus produce this summer! (to fill up the space we'de made by giving away the other stuff!!!)

Go on give it a go, find your local group and take a peak or even chance at putting in a request for somthing on offer.... you may get lucky like us.
A simple way to de-clutter your home/garage without adding to landfill sites. If it still has some life to it, don't bin it... freecycle it!!!!

Oooooooooh Pink toes!!

Well blow me down with a feather! Who'd have thought.... Today I had my first ever pedicure! Was feeling a little unsure as it would never have entered my mind to ever have one... but Beth VERY kindly booked one for me and arranged to have Benjamin and Leah for me to have it... so...... I couldn't rightly say no now could I?!!!!!!!
Well THANK YOU Beth for a wonderfully relaxing and utterly pampering experience, quite litteraly I had my feet up for 1hr 15mn! Still getting used to my pink toes but then as I was going for it I decided to go for a noticeable colour!! The boys are fascinated and think it hysterical that my nails are painted, they've never seen a "girly" side to mummy before!

Friends and Heroes

BBC news reported on a new series to be aired next week, looks promising, but shame if it's aimed @ 6-10yr olds to put it on at lunchtime?
Click here for the schedule and lets look forward to a program designed to "entertain, educate and inform the audience, introducing a new generation, whatever their faith, to the stories of the Old and New Testament"
A refreshing concept seeking to " to empower children to listen to their conscience and to make good decisions about respect, kindness, compassion, faith and tolerance, based on knowledge and not ignorance."
Want to have a preview? take a look here
It's got to be better than letting them watch the antics of Bart Simpson?

Helping to build a wall of words...

So what's your favourite word?
"As part of its First Mile programme,Openreach is challenging the nation to build a mile of words and unlock a £50,000 donation to I CAN , the charity that helps children communicate.
Submit your
favourite word now and then spread the word to your family and friends!
The challenge is to make the Wall of Words 1 mile long by the end of March 2007 - that's a target of 50,000 words. When we achieve it, every word will turn to gold (or a £1 coin at least) and the £50,000 donation will be unlocked."

So go on add a word and come back and tell us (using the opinion link below)what it was and how many (if any) people chose it too...
... OK I put in "huggle" together with 21 others...
